Our “Jazz Appreciation Month” celebration continues with ALTO SAXOPHONIST/ VOCALIST TIA FULLER, who makes her long-awaited, much-anticipated Jazz Series return. It’s been more than a decade since she made her lone appearance here. When we last crossed paths with Ms. Fuller, she had recently bowed out as a globe-trotting soloist in Beyoncé’s all-women’s band. More recently, aside from playing major venues throughout the United States and internationally, the versatile Fuller was featured in the Pixar animated film, Soul, soloing throughout and serving as the basis for Dorothea Williams, Angela Bassett’s voiced character. At this point, having evolved into a complete artist, Ms. Fuller is a mid-career, seasoned jazz practitioner who now teaches at Berklee College of Music. On this tour, she leads a dynamic ensemble whose individual personnel includes her sister, PIANIST SHAMIE ROYSTON, BASSIST ERIC WHEELER and DRUMMER MARK WHITFIELD JR.
