Classically trained in her native Azerbaijan, PIANIST AMINA FIGAROVA makes her first Jazz Series appearance in more than five years, again leading her entertaining, engaging and original sounding sextet, which includes BART PLATTEAU,. Her Belgian-native flautist-husband. Joining them on the bandstand for the performance are 

Now longtime New Yorkers, the two musicians collaborate with – as they do tonight – a wide array of equally accomplished colleagues. During the past three decades Figarova & Platteau have toured the world many times over as well as appearing at numerous top-shelf American venues and festivals. No matter the location, Figarova delivers concerts filled with mostly all-original material that is arranged in nearly flawless fashion for her sextet.
