Tom Andes' "Double-Keys" Quartet

TOM ANDES LEADS NEW QUARTET!
FIRST MURRY'S APPEARANCE IN A YEAR!
For close to 30 years, pianist Tom Andes'  name has been all-but synonymous with Murry's, the closest thing to "House Pianist" as there is - that is until the Pandemic hit last March and capacity percentages hamstrung Murry's, his performance "Home." That's why we're so pleased to announce Tom's first appearance at Murry's in a year! It's going to be a special date, indeed, as he leads his "Double Keys" Quartet featuring organist Travis McFarlane with rhythm mates, bassist Sam Copeland and drummer Troy Hall.
If somehow you're unfamiliar with the pianist, he has a B.S. in Education in Music from MU to go with a piano performance degree from the famed Berklee College of Music in Boston. Currently, he holds the position of Adjunct Professor of Jazz Piano at MU's School of Music, Department of Jazz Studies. Andes held the position of Musical Director at Stephens College from 2011-2020. Pre-Pandemic, he performed his original score of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” collaborating with the Missouri Contemporary Ballet. In addition to his teaching others during the course of the past three decades, Andes sharpened his own pianist skills under the watchful eye of numerous noteworthy jazz pianists including, but not limited to, James Williams, Kenny Werner and Joanne Brackeen.
