Roger Wilder Trio

Pianist Roger Wilder was born and raised in Rochester, N.Y.  Afterreceiving a Bachelor of Music from University of Miami in 1986, hecontinued to record and perform in South Florida, most notably in groupsassembled to back Stanley Turrentine, Randy Brecker, Adam Nussbaum,and Chris Potter.
  In 2000, the Wilder family moved to the Kansas City area, whereWilder performs with his own ensembles and with many groups includingthe Brad Gregory Sextet, The Sons of Brasil, Bobby Watson, the WestportArt Ensemble, the Boulevard Big Band, the Kansas City Symphony, andThe People's Liberation Big Band of Greater Kansas City.
  Wilder’s cd “Stretch” features his quintet of Seth Lee, Sam Wiseman,Matt Otto, and David Chael. He has also recorded with Duffy Jackson,Angela Hagenbach, The Sons of Brasil, Dan Thomas, Mike Metheny,Monique Danielle, Kim Park, The Aurora Consort, The Boulevard BigBand, Bob Bowman, the People’s Liberation Big Band of Greater KansasCity, Jeff Shirley, Chris Burnett, and the Westport Art Ensemble.
  Mr. Wilder is an adjunct jazz professor at the University of Missouriin Kansas City. Since 2005 he has hosted his own Jazz Radio Show as "The JazzGeek" on 90.1 fm KKFI (www.kkfi.org) Fridays from 1 to 3 pm.
