This year, we’ve decided to call this fundraising endeavor the “30th ANNIVERSARY COMOGIVES CAMPAIGN CELEBRATION.” We’re all-in December 1–31 with December 3 designated internationally as “Giving Tuesday.” The journey rocks for 31 days, nonstop, until 11:59:59 p.m. on New Year’s Eve when the campaign ends and we get to say, “THANK YOU!” to all our donors for the good work you have done and the TREMENDOUS GENEROSITY YOU DISPLAYED in helping us make the 2024 effort our most successful to date.

LET’S CELEBRATE THE JAZZ SERIES 30TH ANNIVERSARY IN COMOGIVES STYLE!

Three Decades! CoMoGives continues to serve as the Jazz Series’ most significant and most important fundraising undertaking. This year’s effort accounts for 50 percent of our Annual Individual Donor Campaign. The 2024 Campaign again seeks YOUR generosity to carry the day and, in the process, attract $75,000+ before the clock strikes midnight on December 31. The Campaign’s road to success results in reaching an average of $2,500+ per day, with an “extra” day thrown in for luck and as a cushion.

OUR “DAILY HOSTS”

We are again pleased to have “DAILY HOSTS” — Individuals, businesses and services — that “keep the Jazz Series-CoMoGives humming right along. Hosts are listed chronologically on wealwaysswing.org. They create daily opportunities, inviting and encourage everyone to please join them in supporting the Jazz Series. People can donate on any day, but if you know a host, by all means, donate on “their day!”

A successful 30th Anniversary CoMoGives Campaign Celebration means you support, and we can continue to do what we love to do: Offer Columbians, Central Missourians and beyond, one of the finest independently run all-jazz performance, education and community-wide projects in the land. With your trust, we seek to fill the calendar with concerts featuring the greatest jazz musicians in the world. With your trust, we look to involve the K–12 grades in jazz, administering in-school activities, performances and interaction with nationally known musicians. With your support, we are able to produce and offer a multitude of free jazz events to the entire Columbia community.

In advance, but never taken for granted, we want to say to everyone: “Thank You!” for participating in the 2024 Jazz Series 30th Anniversary CoMoGives Campaign Celebration — and trusting us to deliver a top-tier, all-jazz program.

THE GREEN MAPS

In addition to our seeking to reach our $75,000 goal, we again look — enthusiastically so — at attracting hundreds of donors from across the United States and throughout Missouri. To do so, we need YOUR assistance.

In addition to monetary support, we ask whether you can only afford the minimum or a smaller gift, or you have the wherewithal to contribute a greater amount, YOU to help us broaden the Jazz Series circle. Please let people you know living throughout Missouri and around the country about the Jazz Series 30th Anniversary CoMoGives Campaign Celebration; no matter where they reside, please invite and encourage them to join you in supporting the project.

We created the “GREEN MAPS” — one representing every U.S. state, territory and the District of Columbia, the other showcasing Missouri’s 114 counties. Calling all “Jazz Deputies.” To date, individual campaign bests stand at our receiving gifts from 33 different states and 15 Missouri counties. During previous CoMoGives Campaigns, we exceeded pre-set monetary goals, which is great. However, on three occasions we have only tied our respective geographic, national and state-wide reach. You are our best chance of succeeding in this quest. We need YOU, our donors, to serve as JAZZ DEPUTIES, to call upon your friends and family as well as jazz fans from around the state and the nation to add their names to our Contributors Roster. With the minimum donation requirement of $10 still in play, we think there are a great many potential supporters living throughout the country and across Missouri who would participate in the 30th Anniversary CoMoGives Campaign. There are jazz enthusiasts who reside everywhere in the United States and throughout Missouri’s 114 counties. Will you help your favorite Jazz Series locate them?

Back by popular demand: DONOR “TICKERS-IN-MOTION.” Anonymously, and in near-real time, our national and state-wide tickers, which do not reveal peoples’ names, continually update. The tickers — let us know where contributions arrive from, when they arrive and the amount of the gift. Moving at staggered speeds, you can follow right along to see just how well we’re doing geographically on both the national and state levels.
